CSIQ - Canadian Solar to move forward with projects in Spain Japan

Canadian Solar ( NASDAQ: CSIQ ) said this week it received regulatory approval for 685 MW of PV projects in Spain and started commercial operation of three Japanese solar plants totaling 42 MWp, according to PVTech.

Canadian Solar ( CSIQ ) said it received favorable environmental impact assessments for six Spanish projects, with construction expected to begin this year and commercial operation starting by 2025.

The company said its Spanish PV portfolio now totals more than 2 GW across six autonomous communities.

In Japan, Canadian Solar ( CSIQ ) has launched commercial operations on three PV plants that are set to produce 53K MWh of electricity to Japan's grid, which will be purchased by regional grid operators under the country's feed-in tariff program.
