VEV - Canoo Lordstown Motors and QuantumScape lead strong day for auto sector

Automobile stocks are outperforming the broad market on a solid day across EV names, suppliers and even Detroit majors like Ford (F +3.7%) and General Motor (GM +2.0%). Leading the charge are QuantumScape (QS +12.3%), Lordstown Motors (RIDE +8.1%), Plug Power (PLUG +2.0%), Fisker (FSR +6.9%), Vicinity Motors (VEV +5.3%), Romeo Power (RMO +8.8%), Adient, (ADNT +6.9%), Visteon (VC +5.9%), Goodyear Tire & Rubber (GT +4.4%), Hyliion Holdings (HYLN +4.8%), Dana (DAN +5.0%), Aptiv (APTV +4.5%) and Meritor (MTOR +4.3%). Analysts are talking up the sector, saying that profit warning from suppliers in Europe and concerns over regulation in China are priced in by investors already.
