• An American expert on horse race betting, Andrew Beyer, defined the psychological aspects related to the behavior of gamblers in two categories: “prime bets” and “action bets”.
• CEFs composing my Cupolone Income Portfolio are “prime bets;” they’re bets calling for serious money as Andrew Beyer described them.
• “Action bets,” instead, are for more frivolous wagers, but that may be worth the risk given the potential payoff.
• My second portfolio, Giotto, made up of five ETFs and three ETNs, started out as an action bet but continues to give me great satisfaction.
• I recently added a third bet, Masaccio, a mixed, “tactical” portfolio of CEFs and stocks on which I want to feel free to act without pre-established strategies.
