CNP - CenterPoint seeks to build two gas combustion turbines in shift from coal
Thossaphol/iStock via Getty Images CenterPoint Energy ([[CNP]] -0.5%) says it filed with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to construct two natural gas combustion turbines to replace portions of its existing coal-fired generation fleet. The $323M turbine facility would be constructed at the current site of A.B. Brown power plant in Indiana's Posey County and provide combined output of 460 MW. Construction of the turbines will begin following receipt of approval by the IURC, anticipated by H2 2022, with the turbines targeted for operation in 2024. In February, CenterPoint filed a request for agreements to acquire a 300 MW solar array and a power purchase agreement for an additional 100 MWs of solar energy.
