CNAB - Charlie Gasparino Likens Marijuana Investments to Bitcoin 3 Years Ago
Wall Street is watching Weed Street, and Fox Business News' Charlie Gasparino is taking note. Expected to be a $50 billion industry or more, it's no wonder big firms are looking towards the green rush for opportunity.
Lucky for investors, it's still early. Gasparino says "it's almost like Bitcoin was three years ago, when Wall Street started eyeing the bitcoin and the crypto currency, and also the blockchain technology parts..."
With big firms like Cowen already covering the marijuana sector, he believes it's just the beginning.
Whether its Wall Street or Main Street, investor demand for cannabis investments is apparent. The NYSE's first marijuana ETF is already off to a successful start, and there are more cannabis ETFs expected in the near future. Additionally, we have already seen the birth of cannabis-focused hedge funds in the space.
While these are just a few of the 300+ cannabis stocks that are out there, the companies that Gasparino's segment features by name are as follows:
Cannabis Sativa, Inc. (OTC:CBDS)GreenGro Technologies, Inc. (OTC:GRNH)Scotts Miracle-Gro Company (NYSE:SMG)United Cannabis Corp. (OTC:CNAB)
Beyond analyzing the companies in the space, Wall Street is also analyzing the products apparently. Gasparino noted that all the Wall Street guys he was out with the prior night "...were all high."
