LNG - Cheniere Energy Partners raised at Evercore on strong distribution yield

Cheniere Energy Partners ( NYSE: CQP ) +3.3% in Thursday's trading after Evercore ISI upgraded unit to Outperform from In-Line, citing the partnership's full-year 9% distribution yield that "should be compelling for yield focused investors looking for defensive ways to play an inflationary macro environment."

The added confidence from Cheniere Energy's ( LNG ) management on future volume growth at Sabine Pass offers additional potential for higher cash flow, according to Evercore's Jonathan Chappell.

The analyst said he still favors LNG over CQP because the former offers superior growth prospects, with the same conservative commodity risk control and bond-like cash flow profile.
