HINOF - China's BYD and Japan's Hino collaborate for electric truck venture
Chinese electric car brand BYD Auto and Japanese truck maker Hino Motors (HINOF) are jointly setting up a company to develop battery-powered trucks and buses. BYD Auto Industry, a unit of battery producer BYD Ltd., and Hino Motors Ltd. said each would supply 50% of the investment for the company, due to be launched next year. Vehicles will be sold under the Hino brand starting in the 1H2021.Toyota expands JV with Hino to produce a big hydrogen-powered truck in the US possibly early next year, following an earlier announcement about an FCEV truck in Japan, wrote Keith Williams on Seeking Alpha in his article 'The World Is Closing In On Toyota; Electrification Accelerating.'
