PPI - China's inflation hits 23-month high

• China's consumer price index ( CPI ) increased 2.5% Y/Y, squeaking past the consensus estimate of 2.4%. CPI increased 2.1% in May.
• China's factory-gate inflation cooled in June as the coronavirus containment measures hit demand decline in commodity prices.
• Producer price index ( PPI ) rose 6.1% Y/Y after a 6.4% rise in May, exceeding consensus of 6.0% growth.
• Producer inflation has cooled this year after it registered a 26-year high in October because of a hike in raw material prices.
