LNC - Cincinnati Financial steps up Lincoln Financial steps down in Quant rankings
In the insurance sector, SA's Quant rating issued a double-upgrade to Cincinnati Financial (NASDAQ:CINF) and a double-downgrade to Lincoln National (NYSE:LNC). Property & casualty insurer Cincinnati Financial regained its Very Bullish status after a short three-day dip into Neutral territory. How did that happen? CINF went into Neutral territory when its grade for EPS revisions soured to D- from A+ on Nov. 2. Then on Nov. 5, the EPS revision improved to B- and its growth grade moved up to B from C. Analysts likely revised their EPS estimates after the company reported earnings last week. Q3 adjusted EPS missed consensus, but its combined ratio improved and earned premiums rose. Note that the Very Bullish Quant rating is even more optimistic than the average Wall Street rating of Bullish (2 Very Bullish, 1 Bullish, 2 Neutral). Over the past week, Cincinnati Financial (CINF) has gained 2.3% vs. the S&P 500's 1.6% gain
