IMAX - Cineworld IMAX enter expanded deal for upgraded and new locations

• The owner of No. 2 U.S. theater chain Regal has come to an expanded agreement with IMAX ( NYSE: IMAX ) for upgraded and new IMAX locations worldwide.
• Cineworld ( OTCPK:CNNWF ) and IMAX will upgrade or open a total of 52 locations by 2026. The two had previously contracted for 47 new or upgraded IMAX systems, and now will add an additional five IMAX with Laser systems in the UK and Europe.
• That includes IMAX with Laser for Cineworld Leicester Square in London, Regal Irvine Spectrum in California, and Regal UA Sheepshead Bay in New York City.
• Cineworld already operates the most IMAX locations in Europe, and was among the first exhibitors to launch IMAX with Laser (IMAX's most advanced theater setup).
• "Our partnership with IMAX goes back many years, since the days of the 70mm, through Digital and now Laser," said Cineworld CEO Mooky Greidinger.
