CBBHF - Cobalt Blue sees huge opportunity for waste stream business

Cobalt Blue HoldingsLtd (ASX:COB, OTC:CBBHF) projects acquisition manager Helen Degelingtells Proactive the company will proceed to the next stage of testingits proprietary minerals processing technology on Hudbay MineralsInc’s Flin Flon tailings storage facility in Manitoba, Canada, afterpositive results from preliminary roasting test-work. The completedroasting tests achieved greater than 90% conversion of the pyrite intopyrrhotite and elemental sulphur with these results warranting furtherevaluation. In late June, COB entered into a test-work co-operationagreement with respect to Hudbay’s wholly-owned Flin Flon tailingsstorage facility.

Degeling'scomments follow the statement of COB chief executive officer JoeKaderavek: “Reprocessing mining waste containing pyrite andrecovering metals remains a focus for our business. Generally, theopportunities include cobalt-containing pyrite, along with other baseand precious metal sulphides such as copper, zinc andgold.”
