CNS - Cohen & Steers posts 4% slide in February AUM on market weakness

- Cohen & Steers ( NYSE: CNS ) said Wednesday its assets under management retreated to $83.5B at the end of February from $87.3B at end-January.
- The 4.4% slump in AUM was due to market depreciation of $3.5B, distributions of $185M and net outflows of $118M.
- Total institutional accounts AUM was $33.36B at Feb. 28 compared with $35.07B at Jan. 31.
- Open-end funds AUM came in at $38.75B, down from $40.43B a month ago. And AUM for closed-end funds slipped to $11.39B from $11.78B in January.
- A strong market rally during January helped drive up the company's AUM by 8.5%.
