COLM - Columbia Sportswear posts strong quarter but supply chain issues linger

BTIG digs into the strong earnings beat turned in by Columbia Sportswear (COLM).Analyst Camilo Lyon: "We commend the company for executing well in an uncertain environment characterized by many crosscurrents including supply chain constraints, transitory spikes in demand from stimulus, and manufacturing capacity issues offset by underlying category strength in outdoor activities and rebounding consumer confidence to spend."In particular, Lyon and say they were  encouraged by the strength of COLM's DTC segment which grew +20% including +35% e-commerce growth, robust footwear growth of +35%, and a strong fall order book."When combined with a clean marketplace that is undersupplied of inventory, COLM's prospects look good, however, supply chain delays are expected to continue for the balance of the year as fall '21 product delays are expected thus pressuring wholesale upside and shortening the reorder windows, we believe.
