CMSA - Comcast ViacomCBS heads reportedly met last month to discuss international streaming partnership
Cindy Ord/Getty Images Entertainment Comcast (CMSA) CEO Brian Roberts and ViacomCBS (VIAC) Chairwoman Shari Redstone are said to have met last month to discuss potential international streaming partnerships. Roberts, Redstone and ViacomCBS CEO Bob Bakish met in New York last month to discuss possibilities for an international partnership for streaming, according to a WSJ report. The talks come as the companies are planning to expand their streaming services overseas. News of the talks between the companies comes after a WSJ report last month that Roberts is looking at potential options including a tie up/acquisition with ViacomCBS or Roku (ROKU), though Roberts has told people close to him that he doesn't feel a need to seek a merger. Comcast told CNBC at the time that the WSJ report was "pure speculation."
