CCR - CONSOL Energy CONSOL Coal Resources complete merger

CONSOL Energy (CEIX) and CONSOL Coal Resources (CCR) say CEIX shareholders vote overwhelmingly for the issuance of common stock in connection with the previously announced merger of a wholly owned subsidiary of CEIX into CCR.Also, CCR's limited partners approve the merger, and holders of more than 83% of CCR's outstanding limited partner interests approve the adoption of the merger agreement.Following approvals of the CEIX stock issuance and the merger agreement, CEIX says it has completed the acquisition of all of the CCR outstanding common units it did not already own.Although CONSOL Energy boasts some of the best assets in the coal industry, the company will face a difficult time overcoming the numerous challenges facing coal, Simple Investment Ideas wrote in a bearish analysis posted last month on Seeking Alpha.
