SWKS - Cree Lattice Semi lead semiconductor outperformance

sefa ozel/E+ via Getty Images The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is trading up nearly 1.5%, outperforming the 0.6% gain for the broader tech sector (XLK). Top semi gainers include Cree ([[CREE]] +4.0%), Lattice Semi ([[LSCC]] +4.1%), Qorvo ([[QRVO]] +2.8%), and Skyworks Solutions ([[SWKS]] +2.7%). Earlier today, President Biden announced that a deal had been reached on the bipartisan infrastructure plan, which will include about $559B in new spending.  The details of the deal weren't fully laid out. An earlier version of the plan recommended that Congress earmark $50B for domestic semiconductor investments amid the global chip shortage that's hitting the auto industry particularly hard.
