Marginal growth continued for basic materials stocks for the second consecutive week after registering a fall in the past two weeks.iShares U.S. Basic Materials ETF (IYM) and Materials Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLB) both recorded slightly accelerated growth from the previous week, gaining +0.96% and +0.59%, respectively.Lumber prices continued its decline, with Lumber Futures (LB1:COM) starting the week at $771.70 and ending it at $756.70 at market close on July 2.Gold futures (XAUUSD:CUR) also took a tumble during the week's trading, starting the week at $1,780.86/oz but dipping to as much as $1,749.50, the lowest since April 15. However, it ended the week slightly higher at $1,787.71 at market close on July 2.
