IWM - Cyclicals small caps and international stocks will benefit from rising investor confidence - Leuthold's Jim Paulsen

Widely followed analyst Jim Paulsen said Tuesday that rising investor confidence will drive money towards cyclicals, small caps and international stocks in 2022, as worries about COVID and inflation subside. Speaking to CNBC, the chief investment strategist at The Leuthold Group argued that worries about the economy pushed investors towards large-cap growth stocks in 2021, as they sought safety in reliable names. As such, Paulsen described the 2021 market as being driven less by a fear of missing out and more by "a fear of being in." The Leuthold analyst looked for this dynamic to change in the new year.
