CYDY - CytoDyn expands Leronlimab supply in Philippines under compassionate use

CytoDyn ([[CYDY]] -11.2%) is to deliver its experimental COVID-19 therapy Leronlimab (PRO 140) to a Philippine hospital for the treatment of an additional 28 critically ill COVID-19 patients under a new Compassionate Special Permit, the company said.Chiral Pharma, the importer of Leronlimab in the Philippines, is working with the Philippine FDA and the hospital.Leronlimab a monoclonal antibody that blocks the cellular receptor CCR5 has FDA’s Fast Track designation to treat HIV and metastatic cancer.In late March, CytoDyn announced that the drug regulator in the Philippines has approved the use of leronlimab to treat a COVID-19 patient under compassionate use.On Monday, updating on his condition, Cytodyn said that the patient was discharged following a ‘significant’ improvement in symptoms 38 hours after the treatment.
