DVA - DaVita recovers after indictment on labor market collusion

utah778/iStock via Getty Images After three back-to-back sessions of losses DaVita (DVA) is trading flat just a day after the company and its former CEO Kent Thiry were indicted by a federal grand jury in Denver on conspiring with competitors not to woo each other’s key employees. According to the U.S. Justice Department, DaVita and Thiry participated in an anti-poaching agreement with Surgical Care Affiliates LLC from 2012 to 2017 not to hire each other’s senior employees. The company has alleged to have operated another agreement with an unnamed company from 2017 to 2019. "The charges against the company are unjust and unwarranted," DaVita said in a statement Reuters reported. "The government’s case relies on an unprecedented and untested application of the antitrust laws to alleged discussions involving a former executive that occurred many years ago.
