DBI - Designer Brands and Boot Barn lead apparel retail to big day

Apparel stocks are having a big day ahead of what could be a bouncy few days of trading following the U.S. election. Notable gainers include Designer Brands ([[DBI]] +7.9%), Boot Barn ([[BOOT]] +6.9%), G-III Apparel ([[GIII]] +6.2%), Gap ([[GPS]] +6.0%), Duluth Holdings ([[DLTH]] +4.9%), American Eagle Outfitters ([[AEO]] +4.1%) and L Brands ([[LB]] +3.3%). All told, 23 of the 24 apparel stocks with a market cap of over $50M are in positive territory. The confidence from investors arrives just ahead of earnings season for the sector. Technically, it is also the first shopping day of the two-month holiday season. An upgrade from Stifel on Under Armour earlier today could be a factor in the mild outperformance. Boot Barn is the apparel retail stock with the highest Seeking Alpha Quant Rating.
