Desktop Metal (DM) gained 5.9% in premarket trading after a report that the maker of 3-D printing machines recently approached rival SLM Solutions Group AG (SLGRF) on a possible takeover offer.Desktop Metal was interested in purchasing SLM Solutions for about 600m euros, before DM decided against pursuing a deal, according to a Bloomberg report.DM will report Q4 results on Monday, March 15.Recall Jan. 15, Desktop Metal acquires EnvisionTEC for $300M.
