FTDS - Economy In Disarray

• It seems as if everything is out-of-sync these days as the transition of the economy through a pandemic, a recession, a supply chain problem, a technological transformation, and more dominate.
• The economy has been described as being in disequilibrium, being dislocated, and being disjointed among other things, but at a minimum, it is in substantial disarray.
• This we see from the small business sector, from the private sector, from the corporate sector, and from other places that we watch and measure.
• The participants in the U.S. economy are facing a situation of radical uncertainty, a situation that feels like it is out of control, where there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
• The scariest part of it all is that the economy is very fragile and is very vulnerable to any kind of shocks that might come along and expose all the disjointedness that now exists.
