EC - Ecopetrol says operations hurt by Colombia protests
Ecopetrol (EC) says production, transport and refining operations all have been affected by protests in Colombia that have resulted in blockades of the country's main roads and isolated incidents against some infrastructure.Ecopetrol, producer of two-thirds of Colombia's oil and equivalents, says it has produced 651K boe/day so far in May, compared with 676K boe/day in Q1 - a level that already had been weighed by effects from COVID-19 and water handling restrictions - and 735K boe/day in Q1 2020.The most significant impact has been in liquid petroleum gas and natural gas liquids, mainly in the Cusiana and Florena fields, the company says.Throughput at the 250K bbl/day Barrancabermeja refinery fell to 207K bbbl/day from 216.9K bbl/day in Q1, while the Cartagena refinery has not been affected.Demand for diesel and gasoline dropped 33% and 15% from budgeted levels for May, the company says.A week ago, Ecopetrol had said its fields had felt
