EDR - Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel says live events momentum to continue into 2022
Emma McIntyre/Getty Images Entertainment Ari Emanuel, CEO of entertainment agency Endeavor (EDR), said Wednesday that live events are coming back after the pandemic and he expects the momentum to continue into 2022. In an interview with CNBC, Emanuel reported that the company is seeing a lot more activity "across the board" in its portfolio, which includes properties like UFC and Miss Universe. "Every sector is in full bloom," he said. Projecting to next year, he expects a "huge growth business" in 2022, based on bookings they have already started for next year. He pointed to strength in its live music business, as well as its plan for 42 UFC events next year. Looking longer term, Emanuel predicted that bidding wars for content will likely continue over at least the next decade, as streaming services and other media companies fight over product to deliver to their distribution channels.
