Swiss asset manager Energy Infrastructure Partners is among investors currently in talks with Eni ( NYSE: E ) over the potential purchase of a minority stake in the Plenitude renewables and retail business, Reuters reported Wednesday.
Eni ( E ), which pulled Plenitude's IPO last year due to adverse market conditions, still aims to list the business, and the sale of a stake would give a value to it, making a future listing smoother, the report said.
Eni ( E ) is working on a disposal of 5%-15% of Plenitude and could complete a deal before Italy's summer break, which normally occurs in August, Reuters reported a week ago .
Separately, Bloomberg reported earlier this week that Eni ( E ) was near a deal to buy Neptune Energy for ~$5B; Reuters issued a similar report two weeks ago .
