EQNR - Equinor delays date for Hammerfest LNG restart

Equinor ( NYSE: EQNR ) has postponed plans to restart production at its Hammefest liquefied natural gas plant, Europe's only large-scale LNG plant, one week to June 14, according to data issued Thursday by Norway's Gassco gas grid operator.

The company previously had planned a Wednesday restart for the unit, which was temporarily shut May 31 due to a leak in the cooling circuit.

Equinor ( EQNR ) said "technical challenges" during the ramp-up of the plant that were not related to the initial leak have been solved, but it is now awaiting delivery of a component needed to continue the restart preparations.

During the shutdown, the Arctic Aurora tanker loaded a partial cargo from the site last week but reportedly has remained moored .
