ETRN - Equitrans eyes summer 2022 in-service date for Mountain Valley pipeline
Equitrans Midstream (ETRN -0.2%) says it still expects the Mountain Valley natural gas pipeline from West Virginia to Virginia to enter service in the summer of 2022, Reuters reports. In its Q3 earnings report, Equitrans said it expects environmental regulators in the two states to complete their water quality reviews by the end of this year, which would allow the project to maintain its targeted summer 2022 start date. Equitrans, which owns a 47.8% stake in Mountain Valley and will operate the pipeline, said it has spent ~$2.4B on the project as of the end of Q3. Based on Mountain Valley's targeted in-service date, Equitrans said it expects to start construction of the Mountain Valley Southgate extension from Virginia to North Carolina in 2022, which will allow the Southgate project to enter service in the spring of 2023. Equitrans reported lower than expected Q3 earnings and revenues.
