So far in 2018, the big story among equity CEFs is the return of the energy MLPs after a negative 2017. So let's go to the performance scoreboard and see where we stand. The following screen shot shows the top 30 or so equity CEFs sorted by NAV performance after only 18 trading days in January. For some funds, it already seems like a year's worth of gains have been realized.
