IYR - Equity REITs' April capital offerings fall by 61.3% Y/Y

- Equity REITs raised a total of $3.19B in April, down 42.8% from the previous month and 61.3% on a yearly basis, according to a recent report.
- The sector raised a total of $2.70B through debt offerings and $494.6M via equity offerings, a report by S&P Global Market Intelligence said .
- No preferred equity instrument was issued during the month, the report noted.
- Telecom tower REIT Crown Castle ( CCI ) raised a total of $1.35B through senior notes offering, while the multi-family residential REIT AvalonBay Communities ( AVB ) mentioned in its Q1 earnings report that it has issued 2M shares for $245.96 per share.
