Overview
Income funds with exposure to debt securities continue to experience weakness due to the higher interest rate environment. However, funds like Allspring Multi-Sector Income Fund ( ERC ) are attractive because of the high level of income that they can produce for shareholders. When I previously covered ERC, I issued a hold rating due to its underwhelming earnings, questionable dividend coverage, and elevated risk profile due to the higher interest rate environment. ERC has released an updated semi-annual report since the time of my last coverage, which prompted me to revisit this fund. Although some of the same challenges remain, ERC has remained quite resilient through all of the uncertainty....
