FIT - EU pushes back deadline for Google-Fitbit probe
Likely signaling that the companies requested more time to comply with regulator requests, the European Commission has extended its investigation into Google's ([[GOOG]],[[GOOGL]]) $2.1B Fitbit (FIT) acquisition.The probe is now scheduled to wrap up by January 8 rather than December 23.Late last month, the Commission announced that Google had submitted a second round of concessions to the antitrust regulators, who weren't swayed fo the first-round promise not to use Fitbit health data for targeted advertising.The Commission launched its full-scale investigation into the deal in August.Previously: Fitbit +5% after Google submits more concessions to EU antitrust watchdog (Sep. 29 2020)FIT shares are up 0.4% to $7.
