Euro Area Consumer Confidence increased to -17.40 points in May from -17.50 points in April of 2023.
The consensus figure was at -16.8 points. This is an all new high since February 2022.
In the European Union as a whole, consumer sentiment increased by 0.6 points to -18.3. Still, the confidence remained well below its long-term average.
