FRO - Euronav makes second arbitration request in nixed merger deal with Frontline

Frontline ( NYSE: FRO ) said Monday that Euronav ( NYSE: EURN ) has filed an application for arbitration over the merits of Frontline's ( FRO ) decision to terminate the planned merger of the two oil tanker operators.

Frontline ( FRO ) reiterates its decision to terminate the combination agreement was entirely lawful.

The latest application follows Euronav's ( EURN ) previous filing of an emergency arbitration request for "urgent interim and conservatory measures" regarding the merger termination; a judgment in the emergency arbitration proceedings is expected on February 7.

The companies agreed last year to merge in a $4.2B all-stock deal that would have created one of the world's biggest tanker owners .
