FRO - Euronav pares earlier gain amid takeover speculation

• There's some speculation that Euronav ( EURN ) has attracted takeover interest, according to a Betaville "uncooked" alert, which cited people following the situation. The identity of the potential buyer wasn't known.
• Some people speculated that Norwegian shipping magnate John Fredriksen may be considering a takeover, especially after he recently increased his stake to more than 28%, according to Betaville.
• The report comes after Frontline ( FRO ), which is also controlled by Fredriksen, terminated its $4 billion planned purchase of rival oil tanker owner Euronav ( EURN ) in January.
