The pan-European Stoxx 600 edged 0.29% higher, with sectors mixed. Mining stocks led uptick, followed by insurance. Media stocks were down. Overall European stock markets closes the first half of the year 8.8% higher.
Coming up in the session: UK PMI numbers expected shortly. US PMI expected later in the day.
In the bond market, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was up 3 basis points to 3.85%.
Germany's 10-year yield was down 2 basis points to 2.38%.
U.K.'s 10-year yield was up 1 basis points at 4.40%.
