HEWU - European markets mixed earnings season kicks off

The pan-European Stoxx 600 edged 0.19% higher, with sectors spread between losses and gains. Telecom stocks fell, while health-care and financial services both nudged higher. British grocery delivery firm Ocado was among the top gainers, up 7.5% as it reported a swing to underlying profit in first-half results.

Coming up in the session: Canada inflation and US retail sales figures expected later during the day.

In the bond market, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was down 4 basis points to 3.75%.

Germany's 10-year yield was down 6 basis points to 2.39%.

U.K.'s 10-year yield was down 7 basis points at 4.36%.
