The pan-European Stoxx 600 edged 0.21% higher, as investors awaited more U.S. bank earnings to gauge the health of the sector, while China's stronger-than-expected economic recovery boosted sentiment. Bank stocks recovered from losses across the sector on Monday.

In the bond market, The yield on US 10-year Treasuries was down less than one basis point to 3.60%.
