SNB raises policy rate by 25 bps to 1.75%, as expected

The pan-European Stoxx 600 edged 1.15% lower, with all sectors in the red. Autos and bank stock declined. The index has posted declines in all three sessions so far this week.

Coming up in the session: UK monetary policy expected shortly, US unemployment claims on charts.

In the bond market, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was up 3 basis points to 3.75%.

Germany's 10-year yield was up 1 basis point to 2.44%.

U.K.'s 10-year yield was up less than 1 basis point to 4.41%.
