The pan-European Stoxx 600 edged 0.97% lower ,   tracking overnight losses on Wall Street, as recession fears resurfaced in the United States after downbeat data offset initial euphoria from solid earnings by tech giants Microsoft and Alphabet. Tech, industrial and finance stocks dragged lower.

In the bond market, The yield on US 10-year Treasuries was almost flat to 3.40%.

Germany’s 10-year yield was down five basis points to 2.32%.

Britain’s 10-year yield was down two basis points to 3.68%.
