FLIY - Eurozone retail sales rise less than forecast to 0.3% M/M

- Retail sales in the Euro Area increased by 0.3 percent from a month earlier in January 2023, following a downwardly revised 1.7 percent drop in December and missing market expectations of 1.0 percent growth.
- Retail Sales in the Euro Area decreased 2.30 percent in January of 2023 over the same month in the previous year.
- Looking at the details, the volume of retail trade increased by 1.8% for food, drinks and tobacco and by 0.8% for non-food products, while it decreased by 1.5% for automotive fuels.
- Compared to January last year, the volume of retail trade decreased by 5.0% for food, drinks and tobacco and by 1.0% for non-food products, while it grew by 5.4% for automotive fuels.
