In August, I wrote an analysis of Seacoast Banking Corporation of Florida ( SBCF ), referring to the company as a “ serial acquirer ”. At the time, the holding company for Seacoast Bank had just announced its 17 th takeover in the last 11 years, with the Villages Bancorporation being its latest target. While the deal-making pace from Glacier Bancorp ( GBCI ) is not quite up to the high levels set by SBCF, it is certainly getting closer after its June announcement to buy Guaranty Bancshares in an all-stock transaction. The acquisition was Glacier's 27 th since 2000 and its 13 th in the past decade. The deal for Guaranty closed on September 30....
