Loncor Resources Inc. ( TSX:LN ) has updated its exploration activities within the Ngayu greenstone belt, a joint venture with Barrick Gold (DRC) Limited, a subsidiary of Barrick Gold Corporation ( NYSE:GOLD ). Loncor's President Peter Cowley said:
"We are encouraged by the exploration results received to date from the Barrick joint venture and especially the generation by Barrick geologists of additional new, high priority drill targets such as Mokepa and look forward to receiving drilling results from this and other priority targets including Yambenda/Yasua in the north of the Ngayu belt. In terms of other drilling at Ngayu, the first hole at our 84.6%-owned Adumbi deposit has now been completed and the mineralized core section has been submitted to the independent S.G.S laboratory at Mwanza, Tanzania."
Wallbridge Mining Company Limited ( TSX:WM ) has entered into an option agreement for its Detour East gold property with Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd. ( NYSE:KL ) Under the agreement, Kirkland "can earn a 75% interest in Detour East by making expenditures totalling $35 million on the Property," according to the press release. The two companies will form a joint venture on Detour East with Kirkland acting as the operator upon satisfaction of the option.
Equinox Gold Corp. ( NYSEAmerican:EQX ) has achieved commercial production at its Castle Mountain Gold Mine in California, USA. The company "expects to produce between 5,000 to 10,000 ounces of gold at Castle Mountain in 2020, with average annual production of approximately 40,000 ounces of gold during the Phase 1 mine life," but aims to "increase average production to 200,000 ounces of gold annually," with a Phase 2 expansion. Equinox CEO Christian Milau said:
"Achieving commercial production at Castle Mountain is an important step for what will ultimately be a long-life 200,000 ounce per year gold mine, bringing significant benefits to local communities, the State of California and Equinox Gold's shareholders."
Grand Portage Resources Ltd. ( TSXV:GPG ) has announced additional assay results from the recently completed drill program at its Herbert Gold Project in Alaska. The company's President, Ian Klassen, commented:
"We are delighted with these results. These assays confirm further extension of the mineralization to depth and to the east of any previous known drilling. The results continue to demonstrate that the Herbert discovery is a high value mineralized system."
