FXLV - F45 IPO: Gym-backer Mark Wahlberg says people will return to fitness centers after COVID
Joe Scarnici/Getty Images Entertainment Mark Wahlberg, actor and investor in soon-to-be-public F45 Training (FXLV), said Thursday that he expects people to return to gyms as the U.S. emerges from the COVID pandemic. Speaking to CNBC as the gym chain he backed gets set to make its public debut, Wahlberg said the sense of "community" offered by a gym will help F45 Training compete with at-home options like Peloton (PTON). He also touted F45's approach to workouts, stressing that the company has a large database of unique workouts so that visitors always receive a fresh routine. Meanwhile, F45 co-founder and CEO Adam Gilchrist told CNBC that the company will be "opportunistic with its capital" following the IPO.
