DAR - Farm lawmakers push for biofuel funding tax credits in new bills - Reuters
scanrail/iStock via Getty Images Biofuel stocks ended higher in today's trading following a Reuters report that Democrat lawmakers are prepared to introduce two bills that will include billions of dollars in federal funding and tax credits to boost demand for U.S. biofuels. In today's trading, [[ADM]] +1.9%, [[REGI]] +2%, [[DAR]] +2.5%, [[GPRE]] +3.5%, [[GPP]] +0.8%. According to the report, Democrat members of Congress from the Farm Belt will introduce bills in the coming weeks seeking $2B in funding to pay for new fuel pumps and other infrastructure for providing higher biofuel blends such as ethanol and biodiesel. The lawmakers also are seeking a $0.05/gallon tax credit for gas stations offering E15 gasoline that contains 15% ethanol, and a $200 per car tax credit for automakers that make "flex fuel" vehicles that can run on virtually any blend of gasoline or ethanol.
