EMRAF - Finding 'Value' In Utilities: One Investor's Value Criteria Is Another Investor's Market Noise

A few years ago, I penned an article on finding value in utility stocks and thought it was time for an update. There are several definitions of “finding value” and it is important to review several mile posts in the quest. According to the Cambridge dictionary, “economic value” is the value of an asset according to its ability to produce income in the future. Finding “value” in stock selections implies comparative analysis of a stock’s fundamentals, such as PE ratio, dividend yield, and anticipated earnings growth rate as these relate to the current market price.
