BP - First Solar to supply 4 GW of modules for Lightsource BP's U.S. projects
First Solar ( NASDAQ: FSLR ) +1.5% in Tuesday's trading after saying Lightsource BP ( BP ) placed an order for 4 GW of advanced thin film solar modules expected to power Lightsource BP projects in the U.S.; financial terms were not disclosed.
The deal include orders for First Solar's ( FSLR ) Series 6 Plus and next-generation Series 7 modules, all designed and developed at the company's R&D centers in California and Ohio, with delivery expected during 2026-28.
First Solar ( FSLR ) said the agreement follows a 2021 order by Lightsource BP ( BP ) for as much as 4.3 GW of its thin film modules, and places the company on the path to becoming one of the world's largest users of First Solar's ultra-low carbon solar technology.
