I last reviewed the First Trust Water ETF ( FIW ) on November 5, 2024, when I urged readers to exercise caution due to its high valuation, lower growth prospects, and underwhelming earnings momentum. As shown below, FIW has struggled since that article was published, gaining just 4.46% with dividends compared to 16.91% for the SPDR S&P 500 ETF ( SPY ). Its competitor, the Invesco Water Resources ETF ( PHO ), also underperformed....
