FLIR - FLIR Systems nabs additional $15.4M contract from U.S. Army
FLIR Systems (FLIR) won an additional $15.4M contract for delivering its FLIR Black Hornet 3 Personal Reconnaissance Systems to the U.S. Army.The advanced nano-unmanned aerial vehicles are being used to augment squad and small unit-level surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities as part of the Army’s Soldier Borne Sensor program. U.S. Army began acquiring Black Hornet 3's for supporting the SBS effort from late 2018; since then, it has placed orders totaling $85M+ for the FLIR nano-UAV.FLIR has delivered 12K+ Black Hornet nano-UAVs to defense and security forces worldwide.Deliveries are scheduled to commence in mid-2021.
