SNE - Former Disney exec takes over global television unit at Sony

Former key Disney senior executive Ravi Ahuja has taken a role as chairman of Global Television with Sony (SNE -3.2%). He's taking the place of Mike Hopkins, who left for the top job at Amazon Studios a year ago. At Disney, Ahuja played a central role in the acquisition of the Twenty-First Century Fox media assets. At Sony, he will lead Sony Pictures Television's domestic and international productions, game show franchises and the India business - along with corporate development, and mergers & acquisitions activity along with Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman Tony Vinciquerra.
